The DM-2 is a compact, high-speed machining center built with proven Haas components and sub-assemblies. It is identical in construction and specifications to the DM-1, with the addition of 8″ of X-axis travel and table length. The machine’s shop-proven 40-taper inline spindle, 18+1 tool changer, high acceleration rates, fast rapids, and impressive short tool-change times make the DM-2 an attractive high-productivity machining center.

Finishing Options

As machined

As machined parts have the tightest tolerances because no extra operations are performed on the surface of the part. But marks following the direction of the cutting tool are still noticeable. The standard surface roughness of as machined parts is 3.2 μm (125 μin) and can be decreased down to 0.4 μm (16 μin) with further operations with finer end mills


Anodizing adds a thin hard, non-conductive ceramic coating on the surface of aluminum parts, increasing their corrosion and wear resistance. Critical areas can be masked to retain their tight tolerances. Anodized parts can be dyed producing a smooth aesthetically pleasing surface.

Powder coating

Powder coating adds a thin layer of tough, wear and corrosion-resistant, protecting polymer paint on the surface of a part. It can be used on parts of any material and is available in many colors.

Bead blasting

Bead blasting enhances a uniform matte or satin exterior finish on the machined part, get rid of all tool marks. Bead blasting is mainly used for visual purposes, as the subsequent surface roughness is not guaranteed. Curcial surfaces or features can be masked to avoid any dimensional difference.

Hard coat anodizing

Hard coat anodizing creates a thicker, high- density ceramic coating that gives excellent corrosion and wear resistance. Hard coat anodizing is appropriate for functional applications. The typical coating thickness is 50 μm and, usually, no color is applied. Critical areas can be masked to retain their tight tolerances.
