Frequently Asked Questions from Chesapeake Clients

Can I pick up my metal parts in Chesapeake?

We do not have a physical storefront or manufacturing facility in Chesapeake. All metal parts are produced at our specialized, high-capacity facility in Idaho, optimized for advanced processes like DMLS (Direct Metal Laser Sintering) and Binder Jetting. This centralized production model allows us to offer superior material range, expert quality control, and competitive pricing while delivering efficiently to the greater Chesapeake area.

What metal materials do you offer that are suitable for marine or defense applications?

We frequently work with engineers in marine and defense sectors. Our common metal offerings include Stainless Steel 316L for excellent corrosion resistance, and Inconel 625 for high-temperature and high-strength requirements. We also provide Aluminum (AlSi10Mg) for lightweighting and Titanium (Ti6Al4V) for high strength-to-weight ratios, all critical for demanding applications in Virginia.

What are the typical lead times for metal 3D printed parts to Chesapeake?

Metal 3D printing processes often involve additional post-processing steps such as heat treatment, stress relief, and precision machining, which extend the production timeline compared to plastic printing. Standard lead times typically range from 7-10 business days for complete production and shipping to Chesapeake. Expedited options are available for urgent projects, which can reduce this timeframe; you can view precise delivery dates through our Instant Quote Tool.
