Available materials
Alloy Steel 4140
The increased levels of carbon in this material cause it to be stronger and better-enforced than regular steel. It is a good option for bolts, pressure systems, and projects with hardening requirements. It also has good corrosion resistance.
Alloy Steel 4340
Steel 4340 is a material with excellent strength properties and toughness. At high temperatures, it maintains its structure and durability. Some example applications include shafts, mechanical gears, levers, and operational parts.
Mild Steel 1018
This material option is easily welded and well suited to surface-hardening processes. Once hardened, mild steel 1018 is extremely versatile, easy to machine, and is best used for projects ranging from gears to molds.
Mild Steel 1045
Steel 1045 has a high tensile strength, is cost-effective, and is impact resistant. It can be hardened through heat treatment or induction. It can also be welded and machined if prepared properly. Some common uses are pins and ratchets.
Mild Steel A36
This type of steel is very common and easy to come by. It also has excellent welding properties and can be used in a variety of applications. One of the most common uses for Mild Steel A36 is structural supports.
Tool Steel O1
A strong material option that provides your project with excellent wear-resistance. It retains edges well, is good for machining purposes, and is great for producing tools like punches, blades and molds.
Tool Steel A2
Tool Steel A2 is an air-hardening material with good wear-resistance and minimal form distortion during heat treatment and hardening. It is a blend of good performance, optimal price, and overall performance.
