Nylon 3D printing service

3D printing with Nylon materials has become a modern substitute for the traditional manufacturing method of injection molding. Here at JawsTec, we offer 3 main categories of nylon materials for printing. Read more about them below.

SLS Nylon

For SLS prints, we offer Nylon PA 2200 and PA12.

Description

Applications

Our SLS Nylon PA 2200 and PA12 materials are extremely resilient against friction and chemicals. They are great for mechanical or functional parts. We can produce nylon parts for prototypes, large-batch, and small-batch orders.

Example application: prostheses

Strengths
  • Chemical resistance
  • Complex geometries
  • High precision
  • Long-term functionality
  • Food compatible
Weaknesses
  • Slightly higher cost than MJF materials

SLS Nylon PA 2200

SLS Nylon PA 2200 is an extremely versatile material. Parts made with PA 2200 are sturdy and durable, great for functional projects ranging from hinges to prosthetic appendages. It comes in white but can be dyed after printing to any other color. It is not as reusable a material as PA 11 and 12, but parts produced with PA 2200 are created energy-efficiently.

SLS Nylon PA12

SLS Nylon PA12 is another great and nice material for 3D printing. It is slightly lighter than PA 2200 and slightly weaker. SLS PA12 comes out in a white color that can be dyed to any other colors. If you are looking for a good material that is somewhat cheaper than PA 2200, you may want to consider PA12.

MJF Nylon

For MJF prints, you can order Nylon PA 12 and PA 11.

Description

Applications Our MJF Nylon PA 12 and 11 materials are durable and high density. They are ideal for watertight assemblies and complex designs, as well as prototypes of any kind. We can produce MJF nylon parts in large and small quantities for very reasonable prices.
Strengths
  • Chemical resistance
  • Water tight
  • Minimal waste
  • Dimensional accuracy
  • Strong structures
Weaknesses
  • Parts are printed in default grey but can be dyed to darker colors
  • Not 100% food safe

Available materials

MJF Nylon PA 12

MJF Nylon PA 12 is one of our most popular materials. It is a slightly cheaper option compared to SLS materials. It has an excellent chemical resistance and is great for producing complex designs and geometries. One major advantage of PA 12 is the re-usablity of the excess powder after printing, making it an environmentally clean manufacturing technology.

MJF Nylon PA 11

MJF Nylon PA 11 is also produced from a renewable source, making the parts produced with PA 11 cleanly manufactured. This aspect of the material also ensures a lower cost for you, the customer. With these specifications, we can provide you the lowest cost possible and reduce the overall price. Order today and achieve your goals in a cost-effective manner.

Glass-Filled Nylon

You can order Glass-Filled Nylon for your 3D printing parts.

Description

Applications Glass-filled Nylon parts are exceptionally sturdy.  They are more expensive than regular nylon parts, but are better enforced and resilient.
Strengths
  • Stronger than regular nylon parts
  • Complex geometries
  • High precision
  • Reusable materials
  • Eco-friendly
  • Consistent performance
Weaknesses
  • Higher cost than regular nylon parts

MJF Nylon Glass filled PA 12

We offer glass-filled printing with our PA 12 material. You can select the glass-filled material when uploading your files in our instant quote page. With essentially the same properties as the regular PA 12 material, glass-filled parts are more durable and sturdy. They are also more thermal resistant. We suggest choosing glass-filled nylon if your parts require increased strength properties.
